Chevrolet Trax or Trailblazer: Choosing Your Perfect 2025 Compact SUV
For 2022, GMC offers two choices to full-size pickup buyers: the Sierra Limited and the thoroughly refreshed Sierra. Here are the differences between both.
The configurations
The 2022 GMC Sierra and the 2022 GMC Sierra Limited are both available in a number of body and mechanical configurations. The Sierra Limited can be ordered with three cab types and three bed lengths for a total of four combinations. Each of these models can be ordered with the standard rear-wheel drive powertrain or the available all-wheel drive system and a choice of four engines ranging from a turbocharged four-cylinder, a 5.3L V8, a 6.2L V8 and a 3.0L Duramax diesel. The 2022 Sierra adds a standard bed, standard cab configuration that brings the number of body choices to 5, which are available with all of the same powertrains.
The style
The 2022 GMC Sierra is an extensively modernised truck that includes a number of new styling elements on the outside, including the headlamps and the grille, as well as a completely new interior. This interior is packed full of the newest technologies and it is available in five colour combinations to allow a greater configurability. The 2022 GMC Sierra Limited continues as it was last year, without the changes made to the Sierra. This means that the Limited carries on with a more traditional design inside and out but it also features a number of advanced technologies.
The trim levels
For 2022, the GMC Sierra is available in 8 trim levels, ranging from the entry-level Pro model up to the new Denali Ultimate trim. This new model adds even more luxury and technologies than the regular Denali, most notably its numerous exterior chrome accents and its full-grain leather Umber interior. Also new for 2022 on the Sierra is the AT4X, a more luxurious version of the off-road focused AT4. The 2022 GMC Sierra Limited is available in 6 trim levels which also start at the Pro model, but it doesn’t feature the Denali Ultimate model or the AT4X.
The Price
The reason why both the 2022 GMC Sierra and the 2022 GMC Sierra Limited are offered at the same time is for GMC to offer a more affordable entry into the full-size pickup segment. The Sierra Limited is able to be offered at a lower price than the Sierra and than many competitors despite its capabilities still being impressive.
