2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban: Diesel Power Reimagined
GMC has revealed its next-generation 2025 Terrain, showcasing a significant upgrade to the compact SUV segment. The new model boasts enhanced space, safety features, and technology, setting a new standard for GMC's entry-level SUV offering.
Fresh Design with Truck-Inspired Elements
The 2025 Terrain introduces a bold new look that incorporates design cues from GMC's truck lineup. The redesigned grille integrates seamlessly with new headlamps and lower fog lights, creating a distinctive front-end appearance. The SUV's stance is more athletic and planted, giving it a robust presence on the road.
In a first for the Terrain, GMC is offering a two-tone roof option in black or grey, allowing for greater personalization. The interior has been revamped with sweeping lines that accentuate the cabin's width, complemented by chrome accents and available wireless chargers.
Comprehensive Safety Suite
Safety takes centre stage in the new Terrain, with over 15 standard safety and driver assistance features. Notable additions include Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, and Side Bicyclist Alert. These features reflect GMC's commitment to meeting growing consumer demand for advanced safety technologies in the compact SUV market.
Technological Advancements
The 2025 Terrain comes equipped with a 15-inch-diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System and an 11-inch-diagonal driver information centre. The system allows for simultaneous viewing of up to three applications and integrates Google Assistant for hands-free control of various functions.
New camera options, including an available rear camera mirror, enhance visibility. The SUV also offers 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability and an AutoSense power liftgate for added convenience.
Powertrain and Performance
All Terrain models feature a 1.5L Turbocharged engine, delivering 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The SUV can tow up to 1,500 pounds and comes standard with all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission in the Elevation trim.
Trim Levels and Availability
The 2025 Terrain will launch initially in the Elevation trim, with AT4 and Denali variants following in 2025 as 2026 models. The AT4 trim will offer enhanced off-road capabilities, including a lifted ride height and selectable Terrain Mode. The Denali trim will focus on luxury features and advanced technologies.
Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC, stated, "The 2025 GMC Terrain builds on GMC's strengths and offers our latest, premium technology and safety features, while bringing a fresh, bold design to our two-row SUV."
The next-generation GMC Terrain is expected to launch in late 2024, with more details to be released closer to the launch date.
